Colchester County Acquires Keith Cheynes' Carving

Posted in Articles

The Truro Art Society has for many years assisted the Municipality of the County of Colchester with their Annual Art Purchase Program. This year Jennifer Boiduk organized the exhibition and 10 artists responded to the call, entering 30 very good quality images. Aside from three members on the County team, the winners from last year’s selection were invited to assist with the judging.

This year, the selected artwork belonged to Keith Cheynes, who has carved a beautiful 3D scene with about 5 fluttering winter birds around a feeder. Although there were several finalists considered, the selection committee felt Cheynes entry of an every-day Colchester scene was one that that many people could identify with.
